Intel Chief Engineering Officer Venkata Renduchintala Has Resigned as of August 3
Intel has announced the resignation of Chief Engineering Officer and group president of its technology, systems architecture and client group, Venkata “Murthy” Renduchintala, effective August 3. Venkata’s most recent role focused on leadership in technology, engineering, and manufacturing. Intel had determined on July 24 that Renduchintala’s role would be eliminated. Salesforce Chief Scientist Richard Socher Leaves to Launch A New Startup
Richard Socher announced that he resigned from Salesforce’s chief scientist position to start his own company in a recent tweet. Socher has been leading Salesforce’s AI research and development over the past four years, and he will remain as an advisor to the company. Previously, Socher was an adjunct professor at Stanford University and the founder and CEO of MetaMind, a deep learning startup acquired by Salesforce in 2016. [Read More]
Silicon Valley LiDAR Startup, Luminar, Hires Aaron Jefferson, as VP of Product
Luminar, an autonomous vehicle sensor and software company, has hired former VP at ZF Group, Aaron Jefferson, as VP of Product; he will also be joining the Board of Directors. Aaron has a 20+ year history focused on ADAS and Automated Driving systems. Prior to this, Aaron worked at Delphi (Aptive), leading ADAS product management. Luminar also hired automotive industry veterans Tom Fennimore as their CFO and Marc Losiewicz as VP of Business Development. [Read More]
Todd Johnson, former Executive at Evident, to join AI Lung imaging Analysis Company VIDA as CTO
Iowa-based lung imaging company, VIDA, revealed that Technology Development leader, Todd Johnson, has joined their company as CTO, bringing 25+ years experience in enterprise imaging and advanced clinical applications. VIDA has gained increased importance due to its focus on mitigating lung damage during COVID-19. US National Security Commission on AI Recommends the Creation of a Digital Reserve Corps and Academy
The National Security Commission on AI has recommended the US to form a digital reserve corps and digital service academy to grow tech-savvy individuals in the public sector. This recommendation is a part of the commission’s Q2 report, which also focused on ethics, protection, and application of AI. Unlike with military service academies, students for this would enroll on a five-year career path in the federal civilian government upon graduating. [Read More]
